Had a good day. Went into Chennai for church. Rode back on the bus with some of the children (They don't all go to church!! Just a few.) They were very well behaved - was just some of the older kids. Twelve children and one house mother. They had a lunch of rice that they ate on the bus - no utinsels. I didn't see one grain of rice or food on the floor or a seat. I couldn't believe it. Imagine how our vehicles would look if we had children eat a plate of rice in the car with no utinsels!
On the ride back we waited at a railroad crossing, I estimate, over 15 minutes for a train. I think it took about 3 hours to get back. (Took almost 2 hours to get there.) One girl asked why I was so quiet. I said I was tired and asked her to tell me a story (good to get the kids to speak english.) She said she wasn't a very good story teller. She thought for a minute and then told me in very good detail and in english the story of the widow's mite. It was wonderful. Then she said she would tell me a humorous story. She told the story about some frogs that were told they couldn't climb up a pole. One finally did and they wondered how it was able to succeed. Turned out the frog was deaf.
Was fun to wear a Sari today. I thought it was lovely.
